Hair Bleaching And Hair Loss
The process of removing the pigment of hair is called bleaching. Similar terms to bleaching are decolorizing and “hair lightening”. Bleaching is a chemical process, the use of hydrogen peroxide and ammonium hydroxide reacts to melanin and removing it from the hair. Melanin is actually a pigment that gives color to hair and skin. When melanin is stripped off, hair becomes yellowish which is actually the true color of the keratin. Keratin is a protein that makes up hair. The peroxide also raises the hair cuticle, making the strand more porous.
